Edith has been the caretaker at Monkstown Nursery for 17 years.  Her own children attended the nursery and more recently her grandchildren also now attend.  Edith makes sure the nursery is safe, warm and ready to welcome staff and children in all weathers.  She has taken her food hygiene certificate to prepare snacks for the children and just this year has taken on the additional role of dinner lady.  Following a busy lunch she returns at 2:30pm daily to clean the nursery from top to bottom and make it ready for a new day.  No matter what difficulties she is facing at home she continues to come to work full of positivity and always with a smile.  Edith is a genuine friend and shoulder for all and will always offer support to those around her.  Edith is the true backbone of our nursery and so deserves this award.
